How long does each course last?
Powerboat Level 1 One day
Powerboat Level 2 Two days

Each day starts at 9am through to 5pm.
How much does it cost?
Powerboat Level 1 – 299 Euros
Powerboat Level 2 – 399 Euros
PWC – One Day – 299 Euros

Is there a minimum age?
Minimum age is 12. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who also participates on the course.
What's included in the price?
The course fee includes the RYA Powerboat Logbook & Syllabus and the useful handbook RYA Start Powerboating. Lifejackets, fuel, and so on are included. We have all weather clothing available including wetsuits.
Do I need to bring lunch?
You can purchase refreshments in Saint Cyprien although there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic.
What if the weather is unsuitable?
Sometimes we have to arrange another mutually agreeable date for your course for factors beyond our control.
Where does the course take place?
The practical aspects of the course take place in Saint Cyprien on the Mediterranean close to the Spanish border. The huge Marina facilitates slow speed manoeuvres and learning with the speed work taking place in the open sea.
The study and technical learning take place on board or in the classroom located nearby.
Do I need any experience to do the course?
No previous experience is required, although it may be preceded by the Level 1 course. If you feel that you need guidance please do contact us.

Is it a coastal certificate?
Yes
Do I get my ICC at the end of the course?
Successful holders of the RYA Level 2 Powerboat certificate are entitled to their International Certificate of Competence for powered vessels up to 10m length in coastal waters. The ICC is issued by the RYA, see here for more info.
What do I need to wear and bring?
Waterproof jacket and trousers – useful for keeping the wind off, even if it isn’t raining. In cold and wet weather bring suitable waterproof footwear, otherwise trainers will suffice. For insulation, layers of items such as thermal underwear, tracksuits and fleece jackets are ideal. Please bring extra clothing as it can feel quite cold after a few hours out on the water, even in fine weather. Hats and gloves are a necessity in colder weather, and sunscreen in bright conditions. Sunglasses are needed throughout the year due to glare on the water. It is better to bring more clothing rather than be under-equipped (and cold). We have some wetsuits available, mandatory for PWC courses. Life jackets and impact jackets are supplied.
